UDK(the Unreal Development Kit) is a very good game engine in nowadays. It is a first-person shooting game engine at beginning and it is easy to learn and control for someone who even don't have too much 2D or 3D designing backgrounds. It is a good way to use the UDK for the game makers, even some of game enthusiasts to have a chance to design their own 3D magic game environments.
With the Unreal Engine developed, the UDK is not only design the first-person shooting game environments, game makers can design the RPG game environments and even the phone game environments.
Anyway, the best thing is that it is a free game engine for people if they don't use the UDK works to get money.
